Student Sculpture for Website

The Student Sculpture competition is a very important component of Sculpture for Clyde and we are always impressed by the calibre of artworks submitted for exhibition.

This year five local high schools have submitted work for exhibition and to be judged by our Artist Adjudicator, Susan McAlister. Susan is a well known south coast sculptor who works mainly in clay. She loves the translating of an inner vision to a sculptural reality. Susan has been very interested in student work in the Sculpture For Clyde exhibition over a number of years and her pieces have been selected as prizes for winning schools.

This year we will offer three main prizes:

  • $500 best individual sculpture
  • $500 best collaborative sculptures
  • A sculpture from the main exhibition presented to the school with the best body of work.

Our generous sponsors are:

Guerilla Roasters

University of Wollongong

South Coast Bookkeeping

Go Vita Batemans Bay

Mogo Village Framers

ZART Art (Art Supplies Vouchers)

Bay Office Supplies, Sportspower and Stitches

All student sculptures will be exhibited in our huge marquee, making it easier for visitors to view the impressive talents of local young sculptors, alongside the other well known, successful artists of the main exhibition.

The student exhibition and prize has attracted some serious sponsors and we are so grateful to them for understanding the value of supporting our young people’s creativity and talent.

Coffee Label competition boosts Student Sculpture Coffers

Kayla Slattery, a Year 10 student from Broulee, and Guerrilla Roaster’s Mat Hatcher launched a new coffee label earlier this year. Money from the sales will support the Student Sculpture Prize in 2024 so watch out for this striking label when visiting any of the Mossy Cafes. We love Kayla’s busy bee! And we love that Guerrilla Roasters came to us with this idea and continues to sponsor artistic expression in our young people.
